Allergic nickel dermatitis caused by shaving |
Researchers from Copenhagen University Hospital in Denmark describe the case of a 44 year old man suffering from facial dermatitis. After suffering for a year, it was discovered that his shaver was made of nickel-releasing metal. He also wore necklaces, but no nickel release from these was detected. The facial dermatitis, which had been severe, cleared up immediately he stopped using the shaver.
